Preserving the stories and items that served a role on the town's firefighting history, the Toledo Firefighters Museum is packed with all kinds of unique, functional items and historical photographs. Its oldest, and most valuable, artifact is the 1837 fire pumper "Neptune," which required 20 men to operate, and many other fire pumpers and early conveyances are also on display. The museum is within the 1920s building that served as the one of the town's fire houses until the 1970s, located just a few miles north of downtown past the interstate.
Open Sat. noon - 4:00 p.m.
Free.
