The S.S. Willis B. Boyer Museum Ship was known as "The World's Largest Bulk Freighter" upon its launch in 1911, serving as a cargo ship along the Great Lakes until 1980. Significant as a reminder of local commerce and trade in the early 20th century, and one of the last surviving ships of its kind and era, the ship has been turned into an active history museum, filled with photographs, antiques, documents and more. It is located on the Maumee River about five miles inland from the bay, at downtown Toledo's International Park.
