Slowly constructed over the course of 16 years, between 1910 and 1926, the Our Lady Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral was built in the Plateresque style of early Renaissance Spain. One of the most unique things about the building is that no construction steel was used in its creation, instead relying on materials that were employed more than 700 years previously. Filled with sculpture, engraved stone carvings, stunning stained glass windows and brightly painted ornamentation, the beautiful cathedral is the center of the Catholic Toledo Diocese and an architectural marvel. It is situated on the northwestern edge of downtown, about a mile east of Jermain Park.
